The &Do Holdings Group has its sights set on fulfilling its responsibility to society and achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) associated with its business activities. To such ends, it accordingly promotes sustainability with the aim of helping to make the notion of a sustainable society a reality through its business activities in addressing challenges involving environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) criteria.

The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) serve a collection of international objectives geared to achieving a sustainable and better future by the year 2030. The SDGs are a set of 17 goals consisting of 169 associated targets, underpinned by a pledge to “leave no one behind.” The nation of Japan has been actively taking on initiatives with respect to the SDGs, which serve as a universal call to action in that they enlist efforts of developing countries and advanced economies alike.

The &Do Holdings Group endorses such ideals and accordingly seeks to play its part by providing real estate services in a manner that helps achieve the SDGs.

Climate Change and the TCFD

The &Do Holdings Group recognizes that measures to protect the environment, including those to address climate change, represent both risks that could impact the sustainable growth of society and our business as well as opportunities to improve our competitiveness and create business opportunities. While promoting business management that considers the environment throughout the Group and disclosing information on our activities for addressing climate change and achieving a decarbonized society through our business activities in accordance with the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), we will aim to realize a sustainable society and increase our corporate value.

Policy on Human Recourse Development

The &Do Holdings Group seeks to recruit and train talent that is capable of putting into practice its management philosophy that states that “we will be an organization that our customers need and we will focus all our energy and resources on serving our customers,” which is underpinned by its corporate philosophy that states that “we are dedicated to perpetual prosperity and greater happiness by constantly creating affluence for customers, employees and society.”

As such, we support our employees in their efforts to build their careers and develop their capabilities in a manner that aligns with the aptitudes of each and every individual. In conjunction with such educational support, we also take an active approach in adopting employment programs tailored to employees’ stages in life and in accordance with diversity aims.

Promoting Work-Life Balance

In seeking to help people realize their life dreams, the &Do Holdings Group strives to create workplace environments that enable its employees to lead fulfilling lives in alignment with their respective life stages while also making it possible for them to fully demonstrate their capabilities on the job. In addition to helping employees balance work with their parental and caregiving obligations, we also provide pleasant workplace environments and adopt programs tailored to employees who play supporting roles in that regard.

Programs for Supporting Work-Life Balance

  • Reduced work
    Available for choice of work shift patterns as specified in the work rules
  • Childcare Leave
    (up to a child’s first birthday, in principle)
    * Available until a child is one year and six months of age, and up until a maximum of two years of age, as necessary
  • Nursing Care Leave
    (5 days per year for employees with one child, 10 days per year for employees with two or more children)
    * Available in half-day and hourly increments
  • Other than the above, overtime work exemptions, limits on overtime hours, etc.
  • Caregiving Leave
    (eligible for up to a total of 93 days leave)
  • Time off for caregiving
    (5 days per year for employees with one applicable family member, 10 days per year for employees with two or more applicable family members)
    * Available in half-day and hourly increments
  • Other than the above, overtime work exemptions, limits on overtime hours, etc.
  • Life Support Leave
    (available for illnesses requiring medical treatment, hospital visits, etc. and caregiving due to illness of employees, their family members, partners or others that they want to live their lives with)
  • Menstrual Period Leave
    (available in cases where it is extremely difficult for employees to work)
  • Disaster Leave
    (available in cases where employees, their family members, partners or others that they want to live their lives with suffer from natural disasters, etc.)
  • Donor Leave
    (available for necessary exams and hospitalization in cases where employees are donors for bone-marrow transplants, etc.)
  • Lay Judge Leave
    (available in cases where employees are selected as lay judges, etc.)

Employment and support of people with disabilities

The &Do Holdings Group embraces the notion of employing and supporting people with disabilities from the training phase onward and furthermore maintains workplace environments that enable each and every employee to take on work in a manner specifically suited to the individual across a wide range of occupations, including those involving back-office affairs and administrative divisions. With the aim of promoting professional growth of our employees, we assign industrial counselors and corporate-based job coaches to the task of facilitating an understanding regarding the specifics of individuals’ disabilities, along with their individuality, experience and skills.

In addition, as part of our regional and social contribution activities, we are creating employment opportunities for people with disabilities at a farm in Settsu City, Osaka Prefecture.

Accordingly, we are committed to supporting people with various disabilities in terms of helping them acclimate to their workplaces, develop new capabilities and build careers. As such, we will further persist in developing professional environments that enable employees with and without disabilities to work with peace of mind while continuing to engage in initiatives in that regard.

Women’s Empowerment

Having taken effect in April 2016, Japan’s “Act on Promotion of Women’s Participation and Advancement in the Workplace” encompasses a series of measures aiming to give rise to a society in which all women who aspire to play active roles in career settings are able to fully demonstrate their individuality and capabilities. The &Do Holdings Group aims to develop workplaces that empower each and every employee to play active roles, in alignment with their aptitudes, capabilities and growth.

Going forward, we will continue to develop workplace environments that make it possible for our female employees to demonstrate their individuality and capabilities in a manner that enables them to strike a balance between family life and their careers. Meanwhile, we will engage in efforts across the entire &Do Holdings Group to serve as a prosperous and vibrant company that values the determination of its female employees.
